A Perfectly Magical and rewarding season ending game for me also. Before I get into my commentary, I'd like to thank the Los Angeles Laker's for giving me the time of my life this playoff season. Congratulations to Jerry Buss, Phil Jackson, Kobe Bryant and the entire Laker organization. It's been a blast fellows and I'm only 26,410 hits away from a million this year. Congratulations to the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Laker's. The season has ended and so does my bashing need to come an end. It hasn't been personal, it's been business. The NBA 2008 Playoff tournament has been the best I can remember in a long time and I can show I have some class by writing something positive about the tournament, while I get set to turn my attention to Hating-On the King and Queen of the NFL, Peyton (Egg-McMuffin) Manning and his little Nerd Turd Face brother Eli. GIVING GOD THE GLORY! 
You see it more and more these
days. An athlete pointing to the sky after pounding his chest, giving God the Glory. You see it almost in every
sport after a player makes a play. Baseball, basketball, track and field, etc. Who started it? Does any
one reading this know? Perhaps you do, but most likely you don't. Here's a clue. He was from South Carolina, but he went to USC. Can't think of him yet? Here's another clue. He was a quarterback. Still dumbfounded. He was a Black quarterback. Getting my drift yet. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears and started before Ditka took over and installed Jim McMahon. Oh, come on now, if you still having problems guessing who it was, let me finish the riddle. He left the NFL to play in the USFL, before coming back and starting several seasons for the Raiders, eventually ending his career with them. It was Vince (Bucket Head) Evans. He was called Bucket Head by former USC teammate and later Raider teammate Rod Martin. Vince had suffered some hard times that most Black athletes suffer when they travel the fast lane that Professional athlete's sometime travel and he had turned his life over to God when the Raiders gave him his final chance in the league. I personally know him, we were almost brother-in-laws back in the Mid 70's. I had met him through my sister-in-law, so I continued to follow his career. He was the very first athlete I saw pointing to the sky and Giving God the Glory for his play. So all you players who have ever done it and will do it, whatever sport you play, you now know who started it. His name is Vincent Tobias Evans (A Black Man of God) and he left his legacy on ALL sports forever. RECOGNIZE! How is that, for a blast from the past? Hater N Da House |
